We took references as a group and dropped several balls such as a beach ball, ping pong ball and bowling ball to see how they would bounce after impact.
This was my first attempt to create a bouncing ball animation, which looked really rough as I did not incorporate the squash and stretch but just focused on the timing of the ball.
I tried to make the ball look heavier by changing the timing and adding some sort of impact just to get a better understanding of timing.
After having a better understanding of the timing of the ball, and how it differs I started to incorporate squashing and stretching.
After making the balls bounce, I tried to do the exercise where a ping pong ball and bowling ball rolled down a slope, which looks like this.
This exercise made me understand more about holding frames and timing, which allowed me to move on to the bouncing character exercise.
